I think this is the first time we have heard Justin speak about his performance at the Golden Gate. For many of us who were there we know what they were talking about. It was like being at a cemetary in a way. We were all there in support of the band, but not knowing what we were in store for. Once we got there it became clear that the day was about so much more. Listening to Justin, Matt, and CB you really feel for them and what it took for them to be a part of Please Don’t Jump. Being there has made a major impact on many of us. This whole tour is for such a great cause! Blue October keeps all of us going and we keep them going!!! Like Justin has said we just need to learn to listen to one another more especially when we need help

I can’t even imagine what it was like to be there. The only thing I can come up with that would be similar would be my visit to the concentration camps in Germany. It was as if I was standing on hallowed ground.

When Justin walked onto the makeshift stage and spoke to the crowd, his voice broke. At the end, he reached out to some of the parents there. If anyone doubts this man’s sincerity, his intention, they need look no further than the videos of that day. His heart is huge and his compassion, deep. Stay strong, Justin. We need you as much as you need us.

I remember setting up the shoes and watching Matt slowly walk down on side. He very gently asked, “Do these shoes belong to the people who died?”, I said,”Not all, most are meant to represent the people who died, but there are some that belong to the real victims.”
I didn’t get to hear everything Justin said on satge and I hope the videos will be available soon. I know when I was waiting after that night’s concert he was being his stage persona. When my turn came to get a shirt signed, he pauesd ever so slightly and his demeanor completely changed and I knew he recognized me from earlier. I thanked him and his group for all the work they are doing to make mental illness and suicide something to talk about and stop. Peace.
